My wife and I lived at a camp ground, on the TN River and we love it. I would think that like minded truckers would love this idea, I know I do..
You don't necessarily have to have spots big enough for truck and trailer, you could make a lot that holds as many trailers as you have spots. A dirt lot would be ok, nothing fancy. We come in, drop our trailer and bob tail to our spot. You could set it up in such a way that when the trucker comes in, he has to get a ticket before the gate raises or something like that anyway. I have wanted to open my own camp ground for a while but, never thought about a truckers camp ground. A seriously kool idea and I hope you can get it off the ground... -
What about discounts if you show a cdl? Stuff is expensive enough on the road as it is
-
Ummm, it would be a big rig campground,,,,what would the discount be for?
-
The discount will be for food clothes and other trucking needs...just an idea
-
Hopefully, the owners wouldn't just set prices as all truck stops do but, be more competitive...
-
Nice to see folks take this idea seriously. For my self, I was thinking no cars. No lizards, bums, ect. Pull thru with optional elec. I have a pal who runs a KOA. he says the idea would be a breeze to construct. Access to the highway would be the biggest issue.

i would stop, i been lookin for a campground where i could park my truck and even walk in with a tent, florida may be a little hot for that tho. i just wouldnt want idling trucks as i would prefer some peace an quiet and a little bit of nature. i would prefer to pay for a campground than a motel but thats me, like the one person said might be better as a regular campground with a section for trucks.
