Well, you know 30 years ago, or actually 7 years ago we didn't have to deal with all this new stuff. My experience with all the New trucks makeing me wonder, wich way do I go, glider or new that it'll be junk in 4 years?

Whatever. I don't want a truck to go out to dinner. I want a truck to make me as much money as possible with the least expense.

If you run California, then you are stuck with a truck with the emissions nightmare installed. If you stay out of there then a glider with a pre-emissions engine might work well for you. Running mountains I think a Cummins or Cat would be best with a 13 speed behind it. Order the rears to get the speed you want and the rest is just preference.

What do you get for mileage now? Price is mostly same for all brands when new but KW and Pete sure bring more resale

Buy a 20 k truck that will dot and fix what needs to be fixed and rebuild when the time comes and you will be $$ ahead of a new truck.

How about one of those used lightweight trucks from Prime.
They've been designed to haul more weight and have APU's. Haven't been run hard because they've been governed to 55 or so while Prime used them. Prime has their own used truck lot. -

2011 is old?
Sheesh,.. I guess my 2005 must be an antique. -
I have 600k miles on it and started to dump a lot of money fixing it. I don't want to wait until the dpf needs changing, it's very costly. I don't run California. So I'm thinking a kw glider with isx or a new prostar with isx and last a frightliner glider with Detroit.
