Made me curious, so I checked the carrier packet. It is a self-certification form -- they may not even check themselves:

Hold off on using any logging software or 3rd party company doing your books.

This is why: your Motor Carrier License is currently in its 18 mos conditional period. And will remain Conditional until after you receive a State Audit. Then, the Stat will either upgrade your Safety status or will tell you to correct some problems.

If, the State identified problems, then you'll need to demonstrate executive control. At that time, you will need to write up a plan on how to approach this change and correct known problems. At that time, you can begin stating how you'll correct the problem by using logging soft ware as a tool to identify a problem with your logging.

Myself, I would measure my responses to demonstrate im genuinely concerned about safety & security but will hire a 3rd party Company after trying different approaches. Minor mistakes wont cost you a thing. Also, some brokers wont work with you regardless of how Safe you are during your first 2 years, So make mistakes and take the time to known why they occurred...correct them on your own.
