I am looking to rebuild 10 speed eaton transmission. I spoke with people from ttp.inc dieselpower-reman.com in pierceton, in. They quoted me $3800 to do basic rebuild not including gears. If the gears damaged thats extra. Anybody have expierence with these guys, do they do good job? Or somebody can know good rebuild shop in indiana , or illinois?
    My truck 2001 volvo.

If you get down around charlotte nc. Truck parts inc is where I got mine, complete reman 1 year warranty 3081.00 out the door. My trans is a meritor so eaton may be cheaper.

While doing your search for a shop to rebuild, don't overlook a factory remanned transmission. You get a very good warranty, usually 300,000 miles from Eaton, and you know that the odds are better that the rebuild was done properly. I haven't priced things lately in doing this, but don't overlook that it might be the best deal in the long run. Definitely saves on downtime if that is an issue. Just swap out transmissions and go. The Eaton 18 spd I am using is a factory remanned one. Been a very good transmission. It now has 335,000 miles on it.

For major components like engines and transmissions, I have become very fond of the factory remanned route of doing things. That has become true for most things I have to fix on my truck. I would rather get a remanned AD-9 air dryer and swap out than waste my time fiddling with a air dryer kit and doing it myself. Time is money also.

I bought a rebuilt 15spd from this place 2 years ago. Complete warranty. $2250. In that neighborhood. I have not had a problem. Real nice people to work with. They even took all brackets and hardware off old trans and put on rebuilt for no extra charge. I did a cash and carry purchase. This shop is near Watseka, Il. Good luck.

1.6 is when my trans gave out. Took off from stop light,it hung up in 8th gear. Had to wind it way up to get it out. Made it back to yard dropped trl, pulled up to shop door and couldn't get it out of gear. Gears on main shaft separated.

Yes that was complete price. I did a cash and carry purchase. That was for transmission only.
I had transmission installed at a local shop. They turned the flywheel along with new clutch, throw out bearing and u-joints while I had it out.

My old trans the output shaft from main to rear box the splines wore down. From Rapid City, SD. to Central Wisconsin I was empty and couldn't drive faster than 50mph or it would lose contact internally and I would lose torque almost like the clutch slipping. You can search Geiger's inventory on their website.
