Hey everybody!
My boss is starting a dispatch service company and he wants to know what people think. I know that most of the drivers have been working with their dispatchers for a very long time but I also would like to know what owner operators see as a decent dispatch service company? Any special services (except for finding loads obviously)? Any wishes or recommendations that you think companies today ignore? That would be wonderful if you share your personal experience of working with today's dispatching companies.
Thanks for your help!
Good dispatch service company

Are you talking about him just dispatching loads or finding said loads and then dispatching them ?

I think everyone want a cut from the drivers hard work, broker cut, dispatcher cut, factors want to get a cut. What makes him think he can find better freight than anyone else?
rollin coal, 281ric and Emily_W Thank this. -

I have a problem with dispatch companies charging %. They do the same amount of work on a $500 load as a $2000.00 load. Why would you give them more money? I understand a broker getting more because he has to collect the receivable on the $2K over the$500 but a dispatch service (IMHO) should just charge a flat fee for booking a load.
Emily_W Thanks this. -

So what would be a reasonable price for this service. I've been meaning to look into it.
