When I was driving I always worked Thanksgiving and Christmas because I could get good loads and don't have a family. Now I'm a broker (don't shoot me) was trying to move a few loads before Christmas but carriers were hard to find. In order to sever my carriers and customers better I'm curious how many take off for holidays and for how long.

People actually get Christmas off??????? Must be nice.

The industry has changed. No longer are we expected to run two log books and destroy our heart popping pills on a daily basis. I don't have exact figures but i'd be shocked to find more than a very small percentage of otr drivers not home for the major holidays.

I would love to go home for Christmas. I have no idea how to get a load there. More importantly, I don't know how to get a load back out.

I shut down Thursday of this past week. Gonna spend this next week catching up on things around home. Gonna leave Sunday and not worry about the new year holiday

I don't need a whole week. I am actually fine with a couple of days, but one thing I am going to ask Santa for is more trips home in 2015.

I decided to give up my Xmas this year for a Jan 18th peurta vallarta drunk fest.
The last 3 I gave up cause I'm too stupid to book days off.
