Hello,
im trying to get a driving record for a potential driver but he had a NJ license for 10 years and recently changed to TX.
I asked him for his NJ license he said the DPS Kept it.. My question is, if i get the record for TX will I get his full record? Do they link them up? Or should I get one in TX and one from NJ?
thank you.

I think you get the record from the state that the CDL is from..So if he has a tx license you get his tx record..his nj license is not valid and the numbers will be different, and I dont think you can even get a record for an invalid license. The CDL record should be the same from state to state but not every state reconignizes each other violations. They are supposed to be linked per FMCSA rules, but who knows if the SUPER COMPUTERS are hooked up.

Pgeprimefleet Thanks this. -
A speeding ticket over 55 in my state, is not even a violation in texas so how could they even give me points.?

Yes CDL is Federal License issued by the state. The Texas printout will show the last 10 years. We used be able to carry multiple licenses, one for ticket and one to keep clean but alas no more.
