If your hauling stepdeck or whatever would you rather have your deep reduction on the low side or high side. Please explain your reasoning

You need to explain your question. A 13 speed doesn't have deep reduction.

yeah i don't know of a 13 that has a deep reduction like a 9ll or 15, a 13 has a low gear but not really like a deep reduction.
-
Oh then i maybe wrong. Then can someone please explain the difference between a low gear and a deep reduction gear
-
like a 9LL has a button you can switch before putting it in low gear that engages a deep reduction gear lower than low gear. this would be a deep reduction.
a 15 is like a 10 but you can split the bottom gears like you can the top on a 13
a 13 is like a 9 but you have a high and low option for each gear on the top side
a 18 is like a 13 but you can split gears both top and bottom -

The long and the short of it is with modern diesels there's plenty of low end torque... So deep reduction is only necessary in extreme conditions aka heavy haul, soft ground very steep grades .. The last 18 speed I had was just for the torque rating to turn up engine at the factory.. IMO a 13 would've done fine

iv been in situations where deep reduction is very good to have. but for pulling step deck otr probably wont ever need it. id go for a 13/18 over the other options. even for what i do givin the option id go for a 13 or better yet a 18 over a 15/9LL
