Have a small little operation out of NJ. We own 4 trucks and have been staying regional (4-600 miles). Have the oppertunity to expand operations and start running further distances. Would like any information and advice on what companies to consider to rent a Tandem Day Cab/Sleeper from. Spoken to Penske and Ryder, both arent to happy with our length of time in business (6months) . Still speaking with them. Thought I would browse the forums and see if anyone had any experience on this subject. Would probably rent by the week or month, run 7 days with 2 different drivers.

just realized I may have posted under the wrong section - any help is still appreciated

In my experience, Ryder has better electronic trip logs. Unless something goes wrong with the system, you don't have to keep paper records. With Penske, you have to keep paper mileage logs to turn in.

Why does time in business matter, you are paying them

Any other "large" companies outside of the 2 big ones for rentals that anyone has used?

Well for getting insurance it makes sense to be picky, but if you are renting it shouldn't matter that much, because if anything happens to the truck the insurance will take care of it.
Unless renting for long periods is like leasing, i never done anything like that, only few times I had rented crane trucks with my CDL for a day or two and it was very simple.ew2108 Thanks this.
