askbob runs all position Chinese tires on his drives with very good results. I used to work for a company that always put steer tread on the drives. We would truck up north into MI, WI and other snowy areas. The northeast. Drivers complained about it, myself included. But in almost 10 years I never got stuck in the snow and ice running steer tread on my drives but you do have to think about what you're doing in low traction situations or you can get into trouble.

The tires last about a year for me. Each tire cost $260. Brand new no recaps.

The the tandom single rear tires of most tour buses are self stairing axles so they can cut corners and turns in tight areas like hotels parking lots and for extra weight on board.
