So I have been a company driver for a few years now, and I am ready to make the leap to owner operator. I was just wondering if I should buy a 5 year old truck with 500,000 miles on it, for around 35,000. Or a new truck for around 70k? Seems like most companies sell their trucks at 500k miles.
I want to haul for landstar, but I am tired of using e-logs. I like to cheat my logs a little sometimes.
I was also wondering if there was a good owner operator service that does not require elogs.
About to purchase a truck

Not positive, but try Farm2Fleet.
While on the phone with them, ask about the truck. Some companies have an age limit & some don't. -
A new truck for $70k? Where?

E logs will be everywhere soon.

Is this thread from 1999? Please tell me where a new truck can be had for 70k. You MIGHT be able to find a 5 year old Prostar with a Maxfarce engine for $35k but that's the only one I can think of. 2010's with 500k are going for $50-65k depending on truck. $130k is about the cheapest I've seen a brand new sleeper truck. I've been shopping too
