My name is Bruce and I have been trucking for over a year and am toying with the idea of buying my own truck. I'd like to sign on with a good owner operator company. Any suggestions?

I here a lot of people talking about Landstar. How about knocking on some doors and getting your own customers? That's the way I did it until word of mouth took over. Now I have people calling me, which is much easier!! lol

Where are you from? What freight lanes do you want to run? Dry van, flatbed?

GOOD LUCK!

"Toying" isn't really the right mindset of becoming an O/O. Not being a sm@@@### just saying there's more to it than buying a truck and going trucking.

Landstar, Mercer, Fike or Cardinal are good places to start, I just got signed on with Landstar after 2 months of vetting and going through qualification... From the 2 years I spent on the road talking to drivers about solid O/O companies, Landstar & Mercer and Prime were at the top of the list....

most good company's want 2 years otr. If you wont to make good money look at the companys paying percentage. theres no real money in mileage. and the smaller the company the better. less politics.
