Hey guys, wondering what the professional expert opinion would be on our new purchase of a truck. We are entering the business of commercial trucking. Have my eye on a Kenworth T660 2010 with a CAT15 engine 475hp, apu. The transmition is auto (ultrashift) fuller, . Any suggestions pros/cons would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance to the community!

there is a class action lawsuit against cat for 08-2011 engines if my memory serves me correct. a friend of mine bought a late model 08' & had to spend over 6 grand to get it to run without regen every 2 hours.

Don't buy it. Worst engine ever made. It will bankrupt you. Serial number should begin with SDP ... not anything like the motors caterpillar is known for.

What is a good alternative then, a Cummins ISX engine? I've hear bad things about the Cummins too...

2010 bad year for all of them, do some research on emissions systems then rethink your plan.

Don't get the Cat. All I've heard is BAD. I have an older Cat . 1.1 million. Good engine. But the Cats with dpf are bad news

'08 and newer Cats will break you, Cummins is your best bet, then Detroit (just my opinion) but any '08 and newer needs a whole different kind of maintenance, but if you are not willing to do the work your self they will break you too.

    jimmi2001 Thanks this.
