As of recent , I've been pulling an pnuematic tank hauling frac sand, as everyone knows the oilfield industry in many areas is taking a beating. I decided to go back OTR and started doing some research so as to find a company that I thought would be a good fit. Unfortunately, I have found that many company's will not even talk to you if you have a felony conviction, which I do have. I was convicted of a felony drug charge and served a prison sentence. Since then I have been very fortunate and mostly blessed, it has not been easy having to start over but I've had lots of help and have done very well for myself. I'm in a position now to buy my own truck and become an owner operator, I would like to know if anyone knows of a company or companies that might give me a chance. I've pretty much pulled every kind of trailer there is, with the exception of the trailers used in the Wind industry. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions,

How long ago was the conviction?
-
The actual conviction was in February of 2006.

Most trucking companies want it to be 10 years old nd western express want it to be 24 hours.
dog-c and joseph1135 Thank this. -
look into your state to see if it's possible for expungement. whatever state your felony happened in. if it's possible, that could help you out in the future. it's probably not though, at least in utah anyways. but it's worth checking in to.

You will face few barriers.
Good Luck -

Ok, good info. I'll keep checking, failure is not an option. Appreciate the feed-back.

If you are in a position to buy your own truck, have you considered becoming an independent?
