Dear sir I for one haven't "hated" on your idol.
I hated on your post degrading OEM manufacturers. "If" I was hating on KR and his industry leaders I'd had said they broke a $200k truck built by lots and lots of people @ 100k miles while my pete has not been touched by any one else besides "peterbilt" and is still going.

My only complaint is after following KR's suggestions my MPG is so high I can not accumulate any shower credits. I am forced to sell fuel out of my truck so I can buy fuel to get a shower credit. I am really disappointed.

Holy crap people listen to this guy?

Anyone who recommends some Scam bag part that you introduce into the fuel system and claims it will save you even 1 percent in fuel savings is a Liar nothing more nothing less.

As far as the Detroit coming apart. These things are barely revving, My 89 year old Grandma who is blind could rebuild one in the middle of the desert and get a million miles out of her rebuild.

These things make rebuilding a small block Chevy look difficult

I DO agree with some of the things KR recommends on his show, like using low rolling resistance tires, a bypass oil filtration system, using oil analysis to monitor engine health. But a lot of the time, it just seems he's too busy reminding everyone how much smarter he is than them to actually pay attention to what the callers are saying. I'll give everyone on here a couple of free pieces of advice when it comes to ANY business, not just trucking:

    1. It takes money to make money.
    2. If you watch the pennies, the dollars will take care of themselves.

If you'd like more advice from me, just pre-order my new book that I haven't written yet and probably won't. Just send $49.99 and a stamped return envelope to:

If All that corrosion built up in the heads is the same on the cylinder liners that corrosion may be insulating the liners from being properly cooled and this is what may have caused the scoring on the cylinder walls.

As far as 2 cylinders being ####ed .002 that may have happened from not having the proper protrusion for the liner and if the motor got Hot maybe the pistons on those 2 cylinders lifted one side of the liners.

As far as the cylinder scoring most of the time that is insufficient cooling which could be the result of running the higher temps with the Evans .

or the scores could be from the liners being ####ed, curious on what cylinders the scores were on.

another theory is because of insufficient liner protrusion the corrosion got in between the liners and the counterbore and liftedthe liners on one side and ####ed them.

    Hilarious post from that thread:

    Typical radio program:

Hi Kevin, thanks for taking my call. (sat delay). Are you there? Ok, I wanted to ask about wide singles.
KR: throw your tires in the ditch and get wide singles now. They'll pay for themselves in 6 months. Do you have a scangauge?
Ok thanks thats what I wanted to know. Can you connect me to Lisa, I'd like to get a scangauge.
KR: sure. Let's go to... Virginia -- Charles welcome to the program. Actually its about time for a break, but we'll get to Charles when we come back.

    Join schneider's tanker fleet
Mercer transportation doesnt rape you as much as everyone else
Have a ratty ol truck? We understand at Oakley trucking

KR: welcome back. Charles are you still with us?
    ....
KR: uh oh, looks like we may have lost--
-- Yeah Kevin I'm here. Thanks for taking my call how are you?
KR: I'm great, whats on your mind?
Well here's the deal, I drive an old piece of #### and it has broken down and I want to know whether I should fix it or get a new truck.
    KR: Is it preEGR?
    Yeah
KR: Fix it. Next caller... lets go to.... Nebraska - Jack welcome to the program.
Hi kevin thanks for taking my call. I just want to suck the peanuts from your turds for all you and Leesa do to help us get swindled by carriers.
KR: thank you, but it isn't just me -- you are the one doing...the...hard...work...
Here's my question. I'm getting 6mpg and I want to know what I can do to bump that up.
KR: Buy a scangauge. THat'll get you a half mpg right there. Then a pittsburg power @R muffler. Then a Fleet @R air filter. And a FASS @R fuel system. That will get you to 7.25. Then slow down and run in 12th.
Oh Ok thanks Kevin. What about the Turbo 3000?
KR: It hasn't worked since they stopped paying me
    Gotcha. Thanks Kevin.
KR. Sure. Lets go to... California Charlene welcome to the program.
    Hi Kevin, how are you?
KR doing great, what can I do for you?
Well I have an old truck and wonder if I should retrofit or buy a newer truck.
KR: Hold that thought we have to get to a break....

    same commercials...

KR: Ok welcome back. Charlene was asking about California and my answer is always the same. Fair tax. Er I mean don't run California.
    But I live here.
KR: Move. Next caller... Lets go to... Ore-a-gone.. John welcome to the program.
Hi Kevin, thanks for taking my call. Thanks for everything you do to help us little guys. Here are my numbers what do you think?
KR: Lets see... Top line $1.10/mile -- that's all miles, right?
    Yeah
KR: OK good. Fuel is 55cpm? You gotta get that down. Make a plan to get that down to 35cpm. You need to do...the...hard...work... Do you have a scangauge?
    No.
    KR: Get that first thing.
But what about my revenue? Do I need to work on that?
KR: Its not great, but we can work with it. I have guys making $35,000/year running $1.05/mile. Whelp it looks like we are all out of time folks. Stay tuned for Jonesy as he mediates akward conversations from antisocial truckers.
