I have been looking for and calling any company I can find,,,what a pain it is to find actual companies on google without getting job offers. I got ahold of one so far and the lady said they don't have trucks in the area but she will try and find me one. The broker called towing companies but, he can't find anyone yet either. What a mess I caused and as long as I got this load, I am not making any money. Was just told by Lock Heed that they are off on Friday....great! If for some reason I can't get someone to take this load by 14:30 tomorrow, I am screwed until Monday. If there are any believers on here, please send a prayer for me,,thanks.

Isn't there a set up where you can leave a firearm with the guard shack while you work on base, then pick it up as you leave? I thought that was written into base policies to cover those of us who exercise the 2nd Amendment.

I know that if I need to go into a gov't building back home there are policies in place to properly secure my firearm while I conduct my business.

No..... only active duty are allowed to check them into the armory. Not a option for a civilian. The gate shack isn't allowed to hold them either.

Well crud! Good thing I have absolutely no business on a military base, then.

Seriously, I don't belong on a military base. Not a contractor, not a servicemember. The last thing a military base needs is some idiot getting in the way of business. I'll stick to the off base museum tours (like battleships and stuff).

I still hang out at the Little Creek Navy Base. I have my sailboat tied up there. Not much happens on most bases that you don't see everyday out in town. The high security areas usually have any confidential stuff well out of eye site anyways.

I mess with all the regular navy peeps and a few of the seals while they are jogging in the mornings. I drive by real slow and hold my Hazelnut coffee out the window. I either get flipped off with a laugh, or they toss things their drink bottles at my truck.

Sub bases are always more strict.

Considering the tech involved in today's submarines (nuclear engines, high end torpedoes, sub launched nuclear missles on the bigger boats [yay me for knowing the difference between a boat and a ship!]) and the firepower found on most sub bases, can you really blame them?

i have asked what the procedure is at minot afb as i have been there with some frequency and also typically carry a firearm. grant it procedures are probably different at different bases but they basically told me (1) secure your weapon elsewhere else before you get to the base. witch is what iv always done. then asked them if i am unable to what do i need to do. they basically told me to inform them at the gate that you have a firearm, and that they would call for backup who would then secure me and the fire arm and escort me to some place on the base where my firearm would held and then they would take me back to my truck and i could deliver and the process would be repeated in order to retrieve my firearm when leaving. they strongly advised me however to make sure i left my firearm elsewhere before before attempting to enter the base.

hindsight being 20/20 a call ahead saying hey i got this load coming to you and i have a fire arm is there a procedure ect. if no procedure you could have found other means to secure it before entering the base. find a near by local business to let you lock it in there safe ect.

You might want to re-read this thread.
What you are assuming is not correct. He was not banned prior to his destination arrival.
