Thanks for the help but I know what a glider kit is, but what I wondered about is when does that make a difference once it is been used?

To me and this may be my old way of thinking, once it has been on the road, it is not a glider kit truck.

    ***UPDATE***

I just wanted to thank everyone for the valuable input & opinions on the subject. After 9 months researching "USED" trucks , some gliders and exploring lease options, I have decided to go "NEW" with Lone Mountain Trucks . They have very straight forward lease with no balloon payments and the exact rig I want. So that being said if you check the polls it was a very tight race till the bitter end.. I am fortunate enough to have the ability to finance new and with NO home life, I know it will be a grind keeping up with those payments, I say BRING IT ON!! I will make a new thread when I begin the process and let everyone know how things work out.. On that note, thank you again everyone.. Be safe out there & keep them wheels turnin'...

I had a feeling you wanted to buy new truck and were looking for validation to do so. Anyway I wish you the best of luck, make sure you read those contracts very carefully. And welcome to the wonderful world of dealing with the brokers.

I wish I had attended the mechanic work shops after high school instead of trying to become a computer nerd, then I would be more handy with a wrench instead of knowing how to build a computer in my sleep(which hasn't made me a penny btw) SO I will have to learn the hard way by trial & error

Its never too late to learn. One of the best ways to get acquainted with your truck is to do your own preventive maintenance, change oil and grease everything.

When / if you get to were you can, find a decent fixer upper of your choice. I'm sure a little hands on will go along way even with your new truck, I'm pretty sure there is plenty helpful knowledge here to help you through any of it. Good Luck with your venture.

A relatively late model used glider will most likely not have all the emission junk on it while any other late model used truck will.
