Hi guys. I did use the search function and found a lot of stuff here:
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...erator/259827-where-send-my-oil-analysis.html
Im wondering if there is way to do this without needing to mail the oil sample. I see that there's a CAT headquarters that does this but I'm looking at a couple trucks in different states. Looking at 2011 & 2012 Cascadias with DD's, doing pre-sale inspections with 3rd party mechanics. Is there a national brick and mortar place that does this or is just the old fashioned mail it in to the Frankenstein lab deal?
And all right, if there's no quick way of doing it, is there any other company I should consider besides the top 2 in that thread? Thanks!
Does a quick oil analysis exist? Trucks on the lot ready

Most Speedco locations can do oil sampling, but their quickie machine is not nearly as accurate a a lab sample. It depends a lot on how well the tech cleans the machine between samples, and it does not give as detailed report as a lab does.

Thanks Brian. There's one near, about 20 minutes away. We'll see though because I dont know anything else about them besides what you metnioned -
What do you guys think of a Speedco oil analysis as part of a presale inspection? Better than nothing or should I just rely on a good mechanic, service records, rig dig report, ECM readout etc. We will be doing all that, just worried because its an emissions truck..

I should have added earlier, find out if they did a fresh pm service before putting the truck on the sales lot, many dealers do and this will make your oil sample results meaningless since there will be hardly any contaminants in the oil to measure. I prefer to look at trucks before they go thru the detail and service bay, you get a more accurate picture of the way they were taken care of.
