    Check your oil samples
60 series is a good reliable engine
what specifically are you asking ?

    iland300 Thanks this.

I always haul two times a week weight about 42000 lb, is it ok for my truck and engine or refuse to haul the above heavy load as a new owner/operator.

42k does not really mean anything without knowing your mt weight or type of trailer or anything like that. but really if your under 80k and it pays good enough i would not sweat it

I'm not an owner operator, but your truck was designed to do it. I'd rather haul 42 or up to my maximum 51700 (my truck/flatbed trailer combo is 28300lbs full of fuel) over relatively smooth roads than 10k over rough pothole riddled roads.

All else equal, if an engine grossing 80,000 lb lasts 1,000,000 miles, I'd expect an engine grossing 60,000 lb to last 1,070,000 miles and get 7% better fuel mileage. Price accordingly.

42,000 isn't a lot in the trucking world, most loads are closer to 45,000 or more. As long as you keep your oil and coolant clean and full you should be fine, watch the temp gauge the more you haul and the harder you haul it the hotter it will run that is also normal, however if it gets hot enough to light the warning light or sound the alarm something is mechanically wrong,(not the 42,000) 42,000 is not considered a full load where I work, you have to be able to "legally" haul 46,000 or they won't lease you on.

60 series are a great engine, .... 42k will be a fuel sucker load, I've never pulled any sea cans myself but had friends tell me it's hard on their equipment, not sure exactly why .... I know you have to watch the chassis clearance when back into deep well docks sometimes the chassis will bind up on the trucks chassis.... Atleast you don't have alot Hills out that way.....
    ....... Bless you back

I could haul up to 47,500 when I drove a '98 Pete 377 with series 60 detroit pulling dry van. Oil samples always came back clean.

The typical class 8 truck with most trailers is just fine with a load 42,000lb.
