I am a tall guy and my current company I drive for only has mid roofs and once I was in a raised roof truck and man it felt like I was in a bedroom of a house. So as I am searching to buy a new truck, I noticed every one of them with a raised roof has a double bunk. I have no use for a second bed using up space and I need more storage space. Do they sell raised roof trucks with storage instead of the bunk bed or do I have to get this custom made?
Are all raised roof trucks double bunks?

I can't speak for all brands but my 379's were stand up sleepers no upper bunk..
My current ride (plastic T-660) does have a upper bunk, I fold it down, and use it as a shelf for my clothes...Nothing heavy goes up there just folded clothes...In the event of a quick stop I don't want something flying forward..
Shop around and find something that fit your needs plenty of trucks on the market.. -
Yeah so far every single truck I see on MHC, arrow truck sales and commercial truck websites all have double bunks. Not all of us want a whiny woman to ride with us.

Most if not all that do come with an upper bunk, simply fold up. Now I too have driven a few condo sleepers that were missing the upper bunk, but all the hardware was still in place.
My best suggestion is to go ahead and buy the double bunks, and think about re-sale value. If someone is in the market for a double bunk, and your's has that to offer, you should be able to dump that rig quickly.
It's up to you of course, but since you are looking for a used rig over brand new, your pickings may be slim for a single bunk, stand up sleeper. -
Some Stand up sleepers are single bunk. Few and far between from what I've seen but they are out there.

You can remove the bunk easy enough, leave it up and build cabinets, place clear totes on it for storage, some guys pefer to sleep up there and use the bottom area for storage.
Coming from a tall person take out or add whatever you need for comfort..... I have a classic xl and I removed the cabinets behind the seat for a more reclined position....the cabinets behind the passenger seat and passenger seat are next to go for a larger refrigerator and overall room but everything will be kept in the basement just in case.
its your truck you can do whatever you heart desires (the stripper pole is banned in 15 states though)scottied67, mnmover, 48Packard and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yep no upper bunk in my Argosy and additional cabinets put in where the the bunk hung, feels great when I stand up in the morning and can stretch out.

no not all raised roof cab's have double bunks
my favorite double bunk truck i ever drove was a 379 pete rather than the top bunk folding flat against the wall it folded in half into a shelf. then it had a row of roll up door cabinets that ran along the back wall under the bunk -
Someone was saying that Crete is buying trucks with 1 bunk and I think theirs are high rise Cascadias. So there might be a flood of them on the market in a few years, and maybe this option is popular with other companies as well.
Personally, I like having 2 bunks for some extra storage and it's nice to have the option if a family member were ever to ride along. It can always be folded up out of the way if you need to stand on your bed for headroom (??) -
Don't even need any bunk. Maybe a kitchen, bathroom or office. You can string up a hammock under the trailer. More privacy now with those huge trailer side fairings all the megas have nowadays.
