I'm looking at a truck guys and the out of state mechanic gave me this report. Its a 2011 Cascadia day cab, manual tranny, going to be used for CA city pick ups.
Ok, the seller is offering to fix this stuff but I am looking for advice on whether these problems are too much, too risky, are going to pop up or lead to worse things etc. I am not a driver btw which is why I'm looking for advice. I got a mechanic I'm looking for a 2nd opinion.
MAJOR OIL LEAK- POSSIBLE VALVE COVER GASKET
NEEDS PM/ AIR LEAK PASSENGER SIDE VPOD
NOISE FROM BELTS/ AIR LEAK AROUND AIR GOVERNOR
TOO MUCH PLAY IN THE BACK OF TRANSMISSION- OUTPUT SHAFT, INTERNAL PROBLEM
NOTE ENGINE BRAKE DOESN'T WORK
HAS INACTIVE CODES- HOWEVER RECENT FOR MCM NO SIGNAL RECEIVED.
I really appreciate it. This is a $65,000 purchase!!
How does this truck look? Need too many repairs?

For 65000, that truck should be as tight as a drum. Search elsewhere.
RERM, BeN DaViS and Raiderfanatic Thank this. -
If they let all those problems build up I'd bet they have not done proper services. You will have lots of problems down the road from lack of pms.
Ezrider_48501 and BeN DaViS Thank this. -
you got $65,000 to spend, no offense but you could pay me $10,000 to find you a truck and do way, way better.

for that kind of money you can get a 2012 KW or Pete with less than 400,000 miles,,price is way too high,,get a sleeper if you can never know when a delay happens or you need a nap or what and where you will haul 6 months or a year down the road,,freightliner Cascadia is their bottom line truck,,,if you buy a freightliner you will take it in the shorts when and if you can sell it in the future,Freightliners don't even make good boat anchors or flower pots
RERM, OldHasBeen, chalupa and 1 other person Thank this.
