What price range are you looking to spend ? Do a search on TRUCK PAPER in that $ range for the type of truck your looking for and it will give you a good idea of where those trucks are located and what is available in your price range DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE TO BUY OFF TRUCK PAPER

stay away from arrow truck sales, truck paper,if you see something that interest you contact them,,used truck dealers will usually dicker $5K less that they are asking, if new find a small dealer and order the truck, mega dealers will gouge you,go to Ritchie bros auction website and check put past results for auction trucks it is where a lot of small used sget their used trucks, will give you an idea of what the lowest prices are,,remember a mega carrier does oil changes and service at 40,000 miles or more when you should change oil at 12,000 to 20,000 max to get max life on an engine,,mega carriers usually will let many maintenance items go 6 months or so before they plan to sell their trucks,,if you don't know crap about trucks best to get some one who know to check it out before you buy,,never buy a truck that has a frame stretched or a lift axle not from the factory,,

You are going to register it in your home base state so where you buy doesn't matter aslong as the sales tax isn't higher and they have a law saying sales tax must be collected in that state.

If you live in a no sales tax state or are based out of one then I'd be looking in only those states.

I just went and bought three cars in Grafton west Virginia for 1000's cheaper than I would have paid in my local market.

Apples and oranges but the sales tax is something to consider especially if buying used.

I don't like Truck Paper. A lot of trucks in there, yeah. But it's like the ads are all for predators looking for inexperienced buyers. When I called, not once but several of the sellers, the good price - good buy I was calling about wasn't there. "We sold that truck." Right. Does the phrase "bait and switch" sound familiar? You call, that truck isn't there, "come on in, we have a lot of good deals." I don't know, maybe it's me, but those Truck Paper sales are high. It's like the Kelly Blue Book, 15-30% above market, plenty of profit - for the seller. I like 315's comment on using the Ritchie Brothers auction for a pricing resource, like Edmunds is better for cars and pickups.

I only suggested TRUCK PAPER as a search tool to give the guy an idea of what is AVAILABLE in his price range and what part of the country the majority of them are located.

Lots of JUNK goes through RICHIES AUCTIONS as well at times so true pricing results can vary a lot and many fail to realize that At Ritchie Bros. they sell everything "as is, where is."
