Got our first over weight ticket. DOT was really nice about it as they said we have had many inspections and always passed and never been overweight. Anyway the same day I looked on FMCSA site and did not see anything change on there. Will this effect safety score?

And you won't see it till possibly 2 months.

I've never seen anything of mine recorded in the same month.

Thats correct, there wont be any csa points. What state? How much were you over? As for csa points, its just a matter of time till you rack up some points for you and the company. After 7 years of clean inspections I get pulled over in Arizona for a random roadside inspection. The officer found the Abs trl lite not working correctly. So now, I got 12 csa points. I always do a good inspection but this time I missed it. On a side note, when the officer was leaning into my cab from the passenger side, he saw some vise grips on the dash with black tape wrapped around the jaws. He thought it was as roach clip! lol.

Even if you were given a level 1 at the same time, overweight tickets have no bearing on your CSA score. There is no point value at all for overweight.

Thanks. 500 over gross and 1800 over on back tandems. My driver and I have been trusting too much the people that load the backhaul. Like Gramp always said that real true education is never free.

first time driving a split axel got a ticket at scale house she didn't do any inspection. I learned real fast how a split axel works after I inflated bags for the rear axels. 5,000 overweight yikes! almost 400. ticket but sounds like my company will pick up the tab. Another learning expirence
