Anybody ever took Us-6 from Spanish fork, Ut down through Moab, Ut, down through Cortez, Co, then into Shiprock New Mexico, then from there down pass Roswell and eventually through Pecos, Tx then Fort Stockton, Tx onto I-10? I'm in tacoma, Wa heading down to San Antonio, Tx, I will be light at 10k pounds and I'm willing to try this route. Total miles 2,170 compared to 2,400 + going through WY. I just came from Houston, Tx up here and went the long way through Montana because I was heavier and didn't feel like stopping around as much going through the state roads.
But have any of you tried this route? Was it worth it? How decent was it on time? All answers will be appreciated, thanks in advance
route:
UTAH - US6 (Spanish Fork to 1-70)
US191 (1-70 to Monticello)
US491 (Monticello to CO border)
COLORADO- US491 (UT border to NM border)
NEW MEXICO- US491 (CO line to Shiprock)
US64 (Shiprock to US550 Bloomfield)
US550 to 1-25 to I-40
US287 (I-40 to TX)

bigNATURE needs to run through the 4-corners area.
It's tourism season so you will get slow funky drivers but that will be the worst of it. It's a good run even if you were heavy imo, it does have some rolly hills but mostly downhill.bigNATURE Thanks this. -

Great route to drive through for Utah, probably one of the best in the west.bigNATURE Thanks this. -

Great run, even when heavy. A few slow spots due to small towns, and plenty of places to stop, so long as you are not looking for one of the 4. The Ute truck stop still sells the route 666 t shirts.

Thanks! I have A lot more confidence to head out that route now.
