    Greetings gentlemen

I'd like to know straight from the keyboards of you brave roadrunner vets that are still with the company. Specifically those of you who still run broker freight in addition to t2t stuff. How do you make it work and how much pushback do you get from operations regarding you running broker freight? How long is the approved broker list? I'm leased onto one of the companies that roadrunner recently bought and often come across roadrunner guys. All of the ones I've come across, maybe 15, all do exclusively terminal to terminal loads.

There has to be roadrunner guys booking their own stuff as well, where are you????

I personally left roadrunner about 9-10 months ago, however my father is still leased to them. When I was with them we did terminal to terminal team runs. Same thing every week. I looked into booking brokered freight and did it a few times.
In all honesty, the list is not long at all. After roadrunner takes their cut, the owner Operator is left with basically nothing.
I've read on here some time ago that some people exclusively do brokered Freight but must do a terminal run once a month. I don't know how they do it.
Than again I realize the condition and truck their driving and figure out barely is the answer. There was a very high turnover rate while I was there for four years.

They won't let us broker our own freight any more. If x close to a terminal, must call the terminal and see if they have any outbound freight. If they say not tonite, then you may call a RR Agent who is in charge of looking and booking your freight. They pretty much tell you what the rate is going to be, ask for more they will answer 'that's all there is in it'.

I try to angle for more money, they know every trick. Maybe tell you they have the shipper on the other line needs a decision right now, no time to pick up the calculator lol. Or you ask for more money they hang up and call you back and say shipper has bad credit (what they really did was find a cheap truck to haul it). Or ask for more money and boom your name comes up for a drug test.

I have to be pretty desperate to call those bloodsuckers. I rather deadhead 700 miles to the nearest terminal and sit for a couple days waiting for outbound freight than be victimized by the RR Agents.

Noone in that whole company gives a rats ### about anything or any driver. I have personally been in the Commerce office while ******tte was on the line with a driver and lied to them and giggled to me, countless times. I never trusted them from that point.
One of the reasons I left.

I always imagine the agents sitting around the phone doing that scene from Wolf of Wall Street where they sweet talk the driver with pure lies all the time laughing and disrespecting lol.
