    :biggrin_25516: Just like Popeye said...."that is all I can stand I wont stand no more!" Obviously government and safety groups think us truckers cant set aside any time to make our selves heard or protest any of these lame brain items that keep getting heaped on us. Well I have the best solution that costs nothing and will bring us plenty of attention.

    When in or around any metropolitan areas drive 5-9 miles below the posted speed limit. Only do this if you have the time and can afford to do so. This will affect traffic and defiantly snarl traffic.

    Big bad dangerous trucks need higher insurance, silly HOS rules and now wanting to reduce the speed limit. YOU WANT SAFE TRUCK DRIVERS....OK BABY YA GOT EM! LOL.

    Lets see how much the public can stomach us trucks slowing down and creating traffic jams. Do this until the politicians drink a cup of "common sense" we will continue it.

    The best part about all of this is that it is perfectly legal. :biggrin_25523:

    I'd rather not add to the traffic problem ... I just want to get my work done and go home ... If it gets to the point I hate it so much I'll figure out another way other than driving to make a living ...

    Back in 1986 when ATL. GA. passed new law that trucks must stay in right lane on I 285, it only took 1 day of most all trucks staying in R lane to have law changed back to use 2 R lanes?

    Eh, maybe. Most states have a statute against 'impeding traffic' built into their basic speed law. While I definitely see your point and understand your pain, I think pissing off the general public may not do anything to help the cause.

    Just maintain 5mph above the minimum speed limit and stay in the right lane and there won't be a dern thing they can do about it. You are operating within the "legal" speed limits, and you are abiding by the "slower traffic keep right" laws. If you could be cited for impeding traffic under those conditions, then EVERY Swift/Prime/Schneider/PAM/JB Hunt/etc. truck that is governed below the "flow of traffic" would be able to be cited as well. Hasn't happened yet, even on 70-75 mph highways, you have trucks running 55-65 mph blocking everything when they catch up to another that happens to be 1/4 mph slower.

    If it gets to the point I can no longer enjoy my job, I'll find something else to do.

    I tend to perform the suggested action on a regular basis anyway, I'm not keen on maintaining 60 or 65 when fully loaded in metropolitan areas . . .

    And small towns? Even slower. I live in a small town.
