looking to get my own authority this year ive been leasing on for a year and a half with someone and would like to know who you guys go through on insurance and what are some rates i can expect monthly i believe im paying 700 monthly through my lease company

That's good. All depending where you are located on the North America area. Some of us are paying as high as between $12,000 to $18,000 for general freight or less.
Seems like if you can hook a large company insurance plan you save quite a bit of money.
Other then that it is not cheep.
Because of the insurance going up ever year or so
Many O/O are giving trucking up altogether.
Because it is getting too expensive with other larger companies under cutting fright prices.
They are forcing smaller companies out of business or buying them out.
Many O/O are looseing their independence and want to get out while the getting good.
I really can not blame them one bit for getting out of trucking because it is not like it was many years ago.

You do know that mega carriers only make up 10 percent of the trucking industry. They really a small percentage of the industry.

I would have guessed closer to being the other way around.

I do agree with you about these insurance companies what they are charging truck drivers are highway robbery. -
Here's alil trucking fun fact you might not have known. Majority of the trucking industry is made of trucking companies with 6 trucks are less and owner operator. -
