Owner-Operator Permitting Requirments: I am trying to get all my ducks in a row, so I can start hauling flatbed freight. What else is there? Is this a pretty rounded list? Thank you!!!

I did not see 2290 heavy highway tax, pardon me if I missed it. You also need to keep some files according to FMCSA regulations, driver qualification files, enroll in drug consortium and keep a file for that.

optional - you should consider getting a SCAC code from NMFTA if you plan to go to railyards or ports, government loads, some other customers use this as an identifier as well. you should also consider registering with emodal, although different ports have different requirements you will probably wind up having to register if you go to any of them, just plan on doing paperwork first time to any of them.

Intrastate authority - usually requires sending insurance info and a few shillings to any state you wish to haul loads from point to point within the state. You may be required to register for intrastate authority in your home state.
