i received a ticket on Friday going down a road that had a 10 ton limit, i ended up being gross 39,150. There was traffic and my gps told me to go that road. i know i shouldn't listen to my gps all the time, it was a mistake that i made and it cost me 5 thousand dollars for 2 mile road. i was aware of what happen and now i am going to court to see if i can reduce my ticket. i was hoping if anybody had any idea if i should higher a lawyer or not? this did happen near Pitts. PA. thank you for your input

Lesson learned the hard way. Hire a lawyer and possibly get it reduced.

lesson well learn, i was nice with the officer and he told me if i come to court that most cases, it get reduced by half. i feel like i can get it reduced by myself. i called lawyers and they wanted to charge me a thousand dollars. i figured i could ask and see what i should do? sounds like lawyer is my best bet!

He's right. The judge sees lots of people. Most people are there because they'd something stupid. Some people go to court believing that the judge is stupid or that freedom of speech means that they can talk disrespectfully to the judge. Show up to court and tell the judge that you had a brain fart. There's even a chance that the judge will be satisfied with court cost.

GPS stories still make me cringe... Why do they even put windshields in the trucks these days?!?!?

Alot of us use them with common sense, they are a tool and not there to drive the truck for you. When I set mine up for a route I plan out of my atlas then have the GPS follow that route, even then its mainly there to keep track of milage of the trip as im normally to busy watching signs on the road.

Now I do agree with the rest hire a lawyer and see if he can get it removed or even dismissed, Good luck to you!
