Owner Operator Trainers

Hi ya'll about 5 years ago I went through CDL training through Werner Enterprises at around the 4 week test out to first seat driver I got a call that Mom had cancer & about 6 months to live so it was more important to me to be at home - after she passed it was just routine to stay in the job I was doing (restaraunt manager) but now I really have that itch to be a driver, always have. Now im having trouble with something else i have no family or friends but I do have a dog small boston terrior that I cant part with ( really only thing i have left) but anyway allmost all employers are wanting me to go back through the schooling which is fine but then out with a trainer for 4-8 weeks # 30.00 a day to board my dog, i cant do that. Are there ANY OWNER OPERATOR TRAINERS out there that would be willing to be my trainer & let my dog on the truck. I want to go over the road so bad that I am even willing to give up my training pay except for 100.00 a week to live off of, & give the rest to my trainer for there help & for any inconveince. thanks for takinng the time to read this & Be Blessed in Jesus name':

I think you may want to check around with other vets for a cheaper rate for boarding. Our vet only charges $10.00 a day. I just think it may be easier to pursue that angle and go with a good training company.

Just the opinion of another dog lover/breeder.

Hate to tell you this but, it will be really hard to find an O/O that will be able to act as a trainer. The biggest problem will be the lack of experience will not meet many insurance co's requirements and then the other fact that you will have to be treated as an emplyoee for tax reasons and many O/O's arent set up to or dont want to have to deal with that in their business. Going back to a training Co may be your best bet.
