She probably has'nt fired him because she (you're cousin) realize's that logging and driving down the Interstate (TCH here )are two very different things, laying a truck over while logging could be caused by a poor driver granted , but could just as easily be caused by meeting a 4 wheeler coming up an icey mountain road that you are coming down , this same icey road on a good day is only wide enough for one vehicle .When was the last time an OTR driver spent most of his day in 3rd on the low side at 1900 rpm with the Jake howling ?
The point being ,there are some VERY skilled driver's out there who work in the woods .

Maaaan hahaha you need to come to Arkansas before you say all that. :biggrin_25523:

Log trucks laying over all the time here. Never in the woods though, always on the hiway. 60 - 75 around 45mph curves. There are some good log truck drivers, most here are not.

Years before I used to work at a steel shop and we would have to make replacement parts for chip vans and all the other abused trucks and trailers out running around, and those chip vans took a heavy beating. Paying them to fix their broken trailer sounds like a good way to get your broken trailer fixed on someone else's dime.

not alot of icy mountain roads in south east TX. Both times were from going around corners too fast on these tiny little farm to market roads at 70 mph and he hit the shoulder.

Yes those trailer are beat to death. I've only sen one nice one running around and it's behind a nice black pete and the trailer is painted to match. I don'tknow how he manages to keep that one looking nice. I would never get into paying to repair someone elses trailer

I've seen similar. Also an ex Werner or Wal Mart truck even.

Yes they look hilarious. I wonder how those "road gears" are working out in that soft dirt and mud off roading.

Now these are off-road trucks! Michigan Specials... Monster horsepower, big tires, 23 ton axles, rear gears to pull the nuts off a moose... Put a headache rack on these and ya got yourself a log truck.
