![]() I booked a load with this company on 7/27/09 from Houston, TX to Little Rock, AR. I invoiced them on 8/3/09 for the load and as of today 9/11/09 it has been 45 days and still no payment from them. The driver was very polite, offering great customer service, picked up and delivered the load on time and of course paid out of pocket for the expenses for their trip. Today I finally faxed them, reminding them that their payment was late (30 day payment contract), and that I expected to get paid on time since I did their load on time and that if I didn't hear from them giving me the check number and when to expect it that I was going to contact their shipper/receiver in regards to this trip, which I will if I don't receive the check in a reasonable amount of time from today. A person named Shawn called me, gave me the check number, said it was going to be written today and irately told me that I wouldn't have to worry about it again. Well, during these economic times how many carriers can afford to pay to deliver a load for this type of broker, only to have to wait that long to be paid. He's the type of broker you don't want to deal with. He's irate, shouldn't I have been the irate one??? I thought I had handled it nicely considering that I was the one that had done the job and not been paid. These brokers need to be reported to transportation credit companies, so that their true rating is available to carriers. Any thoughts on this? |
