Connecticut Diesel Price Increase

Diesel taxes in Connecticut will rise almost 8 cents a gallon come July 1 and it looks like nobody cares about this one based on the lack of comments. The big trucking associations look like they are giving it a pass with only the new Owner-Operators United organization showing a letter on their site which they wrote to the Governor of Connecticut about the issue. There is a link to the governors office on the TruckerToTrucker site where folks can thank the governor or possibly protest. Probably not that many drivers in Connecticut - I guess.

The thought struck me that if Connecticut increases their diesel taxes with little complaints, I wonder if other states will follow?

I dont really care that much because I would never buy more than 50 gallons of fuel in Ct, NY, Me, Ma, NH, RI, Vt, Pa. It depends on the size of your fuel tanks but with my 275 gal capacity I am able to fuel in Va deliver in Ct and make it back to Va without refueling. Scales are usually never open in the northeast so you can usually get away with being fuel heavy up there. As for IFTA, fuel tax is a cost of doing business and should be passed on to the consumer.
