| Leasing on with CMT My husband just signed on. After a week and a half of appointments and paperwork, he'll be leaving tomorrow for PA. They're paying $1.10 a mile and that's as far as I know. To work for them, he had to have their stickers put on our truck, get bobtail insurance, use their fuel cards only and also change his appearance (shave his beard) which has me and my daughters fuming mad. Is it worth leasing on to make all your truck payments and pay your regular house bills and feed your kids? When I did the math for just the 1 run, it'll fill the fuel tank but that's it. I can't get any answers out of my husband for how this is supposed to work. I'm also a little annoyed that their brokers clock out at 5, so we have no idea what's going on for a return run or the rest of the week. You would think they'd have at least the week planned in advance if they're hiring on a new driver. I don't know, but something doesn't sit right with this and I have a feeling we're going to get taken for a ride.  |

| 1.10+ fuel surcharge right? Just hang in there, he hasent even turned a load yet.

| No idea about the surcharge. What I do know is he has to use their card, which the company gets a discount on fuel, and they take out what was used for fuel from the paycheck at the end of the week. |

| Im sure they have to pay him a surcharge on top of the 1.10, i dont know anything about CMT but i think they do reefer work, sooooooooooo he can always get himself a free 50 gallons of fuel every now and then

| Who is CMT? The only CMT that i knew of was out of southern Indiana(Coast Midwest Transportation), and they either are defunct or changed names.( I've seen Pavco trucks pulling their old trailers) It isn't really relevant, I'm just being nosy/curious. Like 550 said though, give it a little time. If that is $1.10 plus fuel surcharge, that isn't too bad compared to what most companies are paying leased on O/O right now. That is, as long as they can keep him moving. |
