Just becasue its "legal" doesn't mean it's safe! I know when I need to sleep and when I am safe to drive. Fight the HOS. Write your Congressman.

There is no such thing as a "BACK-HAUL" everything has a start and stop point, If it needs to be moved then it is a load, period. Insurance, tires, fuel,etc... aren't any cheaper heading towards your home than they are going away. BACKHAUL is BS.

Yeppers! 8 miles south of the Johjah line on good'ol Highway US1 Plenty of containers coming out of here. You'll need to get your federal port clearance $135 and also a Jaxport clearance $85 if you get your Fed first. Its the same darn clearance, Jaxport thinks they are special I guess. Probably cause of all the Navy bases here.

Been thinking about the container thing. There's muchos port - o's here in Cuba/Puerto Rico Norte (Florida) with a huge amount of freight - containers hitting our shores, where do all of them get delivered to? Are they short, medium, or long hauls? Do they pay anything? I was looking at a 53ft step with the container locks and didn't even realize that they may be a good option to get outta here to the north or west. I'd love to put a 40 on the bottom deck, lock 'er down and go to SoCal for about $8,000 HAHAHA! Please advise, por favor. Thats please in spanish.

No, I can run under my own authority - if someone will insure me. The inquires about insurance for a start up have not gotten any positive results - YET

***************************************

are you sure? because we got multiple insurance opportunities with no driving experience in almost 10 years. (He had his CDL since 1998, but had only driven for 6 months in 1998 and since then...zip). The insurance seems to be based on the CDL from what I know. Our insurance is pretty cheap because of the length of time he's had his CDL. It seems like you should qualify especially with a good accident-free record.

Hey Brick Need a job?
Brick is going to work for one of the other guys doing the same gig
now there is always part 2 to that story that is my highest grossing day cab it did 16,780 miles to get that at 60 miles give or take for a run with two guy slip seating so there is always a catch but the point remains the same you don't have to go far you just have to find the right niche to fill
one of the best paying gigs I ever had was pulling shanteys out of indana big pain in the rear so no one wanted to do it so you could pretty much name your price and get it

2Fuzy I will have to agree with you on the short haul regional work. I haven't begun yet but I the retired driver that is helping me with my start-up has pointed out several well paying gigs with the understanding that insurance will limit me to 500 miles the first year. You don't have to run coast to coast to make money.
