Quality Carriers tank line

Does anyone have any experience with quality as an owner operator? I only see info posted about the company jobs.

You need to ask about the terminals in your area . Every location is different . A large percentage of terminals are affiliates and you do not actually work for Quality . From my experience , I've seen O/O's get more deadhead and be the first to feel slowdowns . Quality does have a minimum rate per mile for O/O's though . Google Quality Distribution for their website . I'm sure your aware O/O's for tanker carriers have the added expense of adding a pump and compressor to their trucks although our fleet has heavy duty factory compressors on our trucks and don't need auxiliary pto driven compressors . They also have a lease purchase program

We pulled for QC for 3yrs in the '90s. It was a great comp. We were at a minimum of a $1.05pm which was good at the time. The big problem I had was home time. I worked under Tom Woodall out of the system term. Great guy. Was one of the best jobs I ever had. Just home time wasn't there.

That's what I meant by every terminal being different . Most of our loads are in a 500 mile radius and dedicated . Hook to a preloaded trailer and drive close to consignee one day . Deliver the next morning and be home that night . We have a few within a 250 mile radius . Out and back the same day .

I heard this week on Sirius Road Dog that a large tank carrier was cutting their FSC by 35%. I didn't catch the name but that it was a large tank carrier outfit.

that would be q.c. I have a regional run,550 mile rounder, and work on percentage. The contract with the shipper provides a very genorous fuel surcharge. With the new fuel stabilazion program i will lose aabout 20c p.m, combined with lack of miles that is a little hard to swallow. au revois q.c.

I hope that enough of you guys quit or threaten to quit that they rethink their stupid ways.

WTF can management be thinking? Do they really expect to be able to get away with it?
Or are they using this as a way to run off all the O/Os and keep the money in house?

You may be on to something here. I have heard rumors that companies are not happy with any of the proposed FSC laws that would require the money to pass through to the user.
