What does it cost to operate under your own authority??

I am looking at cutting out the middle man here, but I don't drive 100% full time, so I'm trying to decide if it's worth establishing my own operating authority. What are the costs?? I am based out of MO. I have about 15 part time people I haul for that would stay with me. I haul some of my own products, and have a relationship with 5 or 6 brokers through other jobs and people I know. I don't think I'll have a problem finding the work, just looking for the costs I will incur.
thanks for any insight

Somewhere between a shatload and a azzpile..... All joking aside, I just getting insurance could cost up to 12,000 per year, mine was less but I lnow guys who pay more....
All told if I was to try it again (and my truck and trailer is paid for) I would still want at least 50,000 saved up...On the flip side if I could save that kind of money I would never start up on my own again...lol....
This is just me, others opinions will very...lol
