They seem to be great for guys who want hometime and/or dedicated runs, but my research showed that they didn't pay well at all...

I surly wouldn't put greatwide into the catagory of "good companies" around here all they haul is wallmart. they are taking over most the dedicated walmart stuff and walmart is getting rid of trucks. Greatwide is hard to get information on which in itself makes me nervous

No company would EVER tell me who can or cant ride in MY damn truck, this is why people need to grow a pair and go fully independent, until then you are just a company driver with a truck payment.

Oh and Luis please start using proper grammar, it hurts to read your posts dude, i know they didnt stop teaching it in schools.

Companies are not the only ones that do this. There have been cases where the driver has received a ticket for unauthorized passengers in a non leased truck.

FMCSA Rules part 392.60 also prohibit unauthorized passengers.

sorry ive gotten accustomed to this type of writing right now i cant even go with my dad into Louisiana because those idiots will stop and pull the passenger right out of the truck and straight to the bus station and i hate when a company doesn't have a rider policy the guys my dads leased to haul sporting goods what idiots if i ever go when we go to dc im going to have to hide and i will never get to go east of Texas he was independent he even had me on the insurance for a while but he got up real early he pulled dumps and no work on the weekend so nothing for me and then he was going to go to a company that had riders program and a friend of his called him and said work was great and hes there now they've got him on a 3 month test witch is pretty ok but when he gets his assigned stores hes going to get at least one Texas store i hope so i can go with my old man like the good ole days 550 u got some balls man you're one of the good ol guys still hanging around i like that truck man classy ride ( have been doing that for years my friend i have done it when my dad was pulling sea cans its really no harm its sort of family time for some of us why does the government ban that and really i never get to enjoy the open road miss those days even if we were trucking local i just loved the sound of the truck even if the seat didnt have air ride i just really liked it oh and another thing the police stopped us and the guy didn't say a thing no one really cares if its your kid its your kid or spouse i mean cmon some trucking companies are really stupid)

Well i run my own authority so i can "specifically authorize" this.... This is what i mean about someone being fully independent, being leased on to a company IMO is just being a company driver with a truck payment, hardly have any say in anything.
