Was this a pre loaded trailer that you got the ticket with?
And I would recommend spending a few bucks and install a Right Weigh scale on your tractor. You can hook it up yourself if you can twist a wrench and run a small airline. It will save you from embarrassing moments like this.
Sounds like someone was not paying attention when the trailer was being loaded.

Right Weigh! See? I've been asking everyone I know why they don't have something like that. There's another thing that should be standard. CAT scales should be shakin in their boots, yet hardly anyone's heard of this thing.

Wow, really cheap considering. Is it fairly accurate? Sounds like it depends on knowing/estimating exact tension resistance and some funky math.

I would say it is within 300 lbs. You install the scales, get a nice heavy load on board and run it over a Cat scale. You take those weights off of the scale ticket, and with a screw driver you adjust your gauges accordingly.
I rely on them 99% of the time. But, like everything, they are not perfect. Sometimes I will get a load that just screams Cat scale, real heavy and odd ball. Maybe once or twice a year I will get something like that makes me nervous, just call it human nature? But so far, the right weighs have not been wrong, and worth every penny.

Mike, this Load was loaded so I had to have axles up for the Calif. When I scaled out in TX, I was over by 1600lbs and i slide axles up 5 to 7 holes. 300lb to 500lb per hole. My error I did not rescale it after sliding them. But the questionable thing is I gained 600lbs over all weight, not from fuel, I burned fuel since I last fueled and the first was after I filled my tanks.
Only solution is to move product closer to the door. If I can move approx 4000lbs should do the trick. I have plenty of room on the trl to add weight.

I am enjoying it. Problems nothing different than when a company driver.
No snow, all blue skies. Nice traveling weather. Why it is so puzzling on the extra weight. I even checked to see if my seal was still intact, thinking had some stowaways.
