No I haven't seen that driver. LOL
What that driver didn't know is that a friend of mine was also working for that same company. and after the deal with shipper and knowing what I knew I called my friend and told him what happened and how his company took my load, but I didn't tell him about the driver. I asked my friend when he got a chance to, to see if he could find out how his company learned of this load I had. Less then a week later he calls me and says that a driver named _______ told them of your load. This is how I know 100% it was the driver.

I agree on freedom to post but also there is likely to be a call out when you aren't really conversing, just slinging Stuff at the wall. I ran down his problem though. He is in a Fleece truck for YooSAy. .90 per mile O/O hehehe, enabling a rate-cutting bunch of Yay-Hoo's that are ruining this so-called business. He and his ilk are the biggest part of the reason we are having such a hard time planning runs. Six plus months ago one of these O/O's was trying to tell me all about how his .90 cpm "job" was so great. He was very often sitting in a TS all day waiting for dispatch. At 4 pm they would send him for a 4 to 5 hundred mile run to be P/U at 5pm, deliver next AM. Hot Shot emergency service. When I took one of these I was getting 2.75 to 4.50 a mile depending on distance/commodity. He got .90 cpm. When I offered to show pay statements he started to talk about his tire, fuel, PM discounts. Went right on like I hadn't said a word. I think it's called "invinceable ignorance". Of course this type need lots of direction. The company tells them every thing to do and obviously what to think as well. That is the whole reason for these companies offering the Fleese deals. These guys are simply useful idiots. If you can't make the down payment, finance it on your own, have opperating cash, you do not belong in this or any other business. When they annoy real business people they should expect a retort like I gave. Children should be seen, not heard.

    I Promise! :biggrin_25525:

I will have to say today and sunday will be that last day of posting for me for a while. I got's to get back on the road monday and get back at team'n. Me and friend took a 3 week vacation, thats why I have been on here so much. If I can I will check in during week, but if not it will be more like the weekends.

I enjoyed the conversations, just wish I had more time to "talk". I will check back later sunday night before I go. Thanks 1pissedofdriver, Luvtheroad, and many others that I "talked" to, At least now I don't feel like the only one thats having problems in this industry.

    luvtheroad and 1pissedoffdriver Thank this.

Great post. Yes, it's pretty easy to sling that stuff against the wall, especially when you don't have a clue...
Did I call him CLUELESS??? Am I allowed to do that? LOL. You know those moderators, they're a sneaky group, always lurking behind my computer screen waiting... :biggrin_25525: I know I can't call him what Bug Bunny calls people, cause that's name calling and we ain't allowed to do that. They actually want us to be adult about this stuff. Geesh, no fun at all. Just kidding this is a terrific site.
Anyway, I saw that he had another posting about being an O/O but I was to lazy or uninterested to read it. Now you're sparked my interest, I'll look at it.
90 cents? Dang, my pickup would refuse to start for that amount of money. I know that most everyone dreams of owning their own business and being their own person but you really do have to make money. I worked for a company that used to remind us when we made customer calls that "profit is not a dirty word" and we all work for reward--our paycheck. He can get all the discounts on whatever but at the end of the day, what does he have to show for it? At 90cents, not too much I would imagine. Unless it's a company truck, fuel paid etc, etc. And that's all doubtful. I see those guys/gals at the Flying J close to where I live and wonder how much they run or how much they sit.
Remember though, if it wasn't for the original truck that missed the pickup or the customer who just got a big order and needs his products JIT that guy wouldn't have a job. He ought to thank all us poor planners since we are helping him keep a job. 90cents, LMAO I can't get that out of my mind. Did I say 90cents?

I do have a question for luvtheroad:
I have notice that you are in the trucking industry, and I know you are not an o/o, so just wondering what part of the trucking industry are you in?
you don't have to reply if you do not wish to I was just curious.

Seriously though its been really interesting chatting with you and several others on here who don't have their heads up their, ummm, a, whatever. The number of people who still have a passion or true interest for this industry is growing smaller by the day. You've been great. Thank you.

PS-Remember when you're driving thru Ohio, its 55 LOL
