And pressure on officials to to ticket is ridiculous i've even seen right out lies done to serve a fine by dot,and for what,,, just to make there coffers grow and keep the guys boss off his back, that's why you have some laws being looked at as to limit how much money from fines can be kept in the government coffers.
Presonally i think they should be alowed to keep $0.00

I think the goverment needs to set min freight fees, either get the goverment 100% into it or 100% out of it!!!
Many states have mandatory inspections for all vehicles and some are tough . MA has a truck inspection that exceeds FMCSA requirements . If your truck is inspected in MA you are not required to get a DOT inspection . If you have a truck over 10,000 lbs. gvwr in MA the inspection costs $125

I agree.

IL also has similar rules but these are not mandated under the state DOT for non-DOT vehicles. 2hellandback wants all vehicles, cars as well as trucks, inspected by the DOT, or at least that what he appears to be saying. That is where I stated it couldn't transpire. As with IL, these inspections are a part of the laws as directed by the Secretary of state under the licensing (license plate renewal) laws.

All should be subjected to the same laws and rules is what im saying and ALL are not! Why is it any safer to alowe any motorist to drive under any less restictions and conditions !
In fact it been shown time and again that the average motorist is far more dangerous than the average trucker in the trucking industry is.

If that is your wish you should petition your Federal Congresscritters (both House and Senate) to pass a bill requiring the federal and state DOT's to regulate and enforce rules for all types of vehicles and under all circumstances, as well as interstate and intrastate. You then need to petition the President of the United States (POTUS) to sign the bill and make it a law. You need to start with your U.S. Senators & Congressperson.

I can't help but wonder how that would go over once it was passed & signed into law? No exceptions. Everything would be an out of service violation for all vehicles. No Rust (Canada has that law), No holes in the floor (also a Canadian law and our rules are very similar in most circumstances), Brake pads & shoes that must have a minimum thickness and working properly, automobiles that must meet the same criteria as a commercial vehicle. The list is endless. And are you willing to have your taxes raised to hire enough enforcement people to do the job?

That's not what you said in your earlier post. You said all vehicles should be inspected. I was merely telling you how to achieve that end result.
