Today I loaded in shreveport LA. A load of jet ski's 13k lbs going to Beaumont TX. unloaded around 2pm. I had another load I was going to pickup this afternoon and go back up to Kilgore TX. But they changed it to tomarrow morning, then they added 15k lns of product and changed it to tomarrow evening. THey didn't wan tto pay anymore so I cancelled it. Of course when it showed back up on the board it had more money on it. I shoulda called them back but I was mad at that point. It was just a short 180 miles anyways. I was just trying to get back up there to get another load of jet skis on thursday. Also would have made a $1000 day if I could have reloaded it and gotten back up there tonight like was the original plan

Well I don't know what's going to happen people. Rates have gone down since I started here, fuel has gone up over $.50gallon in the same time. the first month I was doing good but here lately I can't find anything to haul. The only fright that pays enough is these 200 to 400 mile loads and with all the deadhead and basically a full day dedicated to each one I'm not making it. I can't run for $500 day gross.

even the fright to the "bad" areas. (ex. upper east coast, florida) isn't paying but $1.20 to $1.45mi. even allot of the canadian loads are at $1.43mi I don't know who's hauling this stuff but I can't.

if that is what the frieght to the bad areas is running you can imagine what the rate to good areas are

Can you do flat or step? Ther rates are fair but the LTL is good, and I can help with good loads to the SE.

I don't know. I've never done them. I'd have to take the securment classes i'm sure and I'd have to buy the equipment.

After looking at there flat loads they aren't really all that much better. I think allot of this has to do with the holiday right now but that doesn't help me much righ now

what the hell is a crane trailer? are they his trailers they are pulling? I see the loads, pay good

There is an agent who runs all the cargil feed loads in OK and TX. he has allot of drivers running dedicated for her and they are making good money. I hauled one load for her last week and was going to talk to her about local dedicated loads but that load just about killed my old truck. I can't haul that kind of weight. So i'm holding off untill I can hopefully get a more dependable truck

Crane trailer are vans with a hoist system to unload out the back. I don't know what they haul but Kirk is a good guy and has been with LS a long time.
