Does it click when you turn the key? If the windings are pulling the plunger back, it might just need a file taken to the contacts. I did that to my wife's Dodge (friggin starters for those are spendy), and it's been going on another three years now with no problems.

Probably a dead spot. That's what mine had. Would start about 4 out of 5 times. Once it didn't though it had to be turned manually. I wasn't about to do that myself.

it wold click once then stick. I know the terminals have been messed up from sitting so bad with bad batteries. When you try to start a vehicle enough times without enough juice to start it the solinoid gets arc'd up bad. Like I said, I meant to do it last time I was home but it got put off with the AC problems I had

You might be able to pull the solenoid apart, clean the plunger and then flip the contacts around so the worn spots face the housing. Use a file to flatten them off and make 'em shiny again.

It cost me $0 to fix the starter in my wife's truck... doing the same thing. The contacts just get worn down and the plunger won't quite make contact sometimes. Or if it does, it arcs and then sticks to one contact or the other. You'll see what I mean if you pull the solenoid apart.

I know, I've done it allot.

just don't know if it's the same type of solinoid. I may just find a starter rebuild shop to go over it.

I booked a load picking up in SHreveport LA to Beaumont for tomarrow. pickup and deliver tomarrow. Load of Honda watercraft. Longer deadhead then I wanted but this is an agent I've worked for before and they do all the honda atv/watercraft etc in southeast TX s it's a good good gig for me to schmooze my way into plus at $2.82 MI gross it don't pay bad for a short days work either.

Now my idleair just shut off on me so it must be time to go to work. Lets hope ol blue starts!
