Finally, started cutting beans today. Beans were 57 weight and 12% moisture. Probably making in mid 50's...very good dryland beans for here.
86,000 was heaviest weight so not too bad. Awfully hard to get farmers to stop putting grain on the trailer. Many people cutting because we have 80% chance of rain on Wednesday.

We had a good day too wheathauler. We cut 180 acres. The bosses said that was the most they ever cut in 1 day. They got a new 900 bu buggy friday. Running 4 buggies now. That keeps 2 drivers hopping. The wind has been blowing and drying the pads and gravel roads some. We're sposed to get that rain here by Weds. night or Thurs..

Only seems to be cotton running out of NC lately. Last time I hauled it the rate wasn't too bad because we were close to the pickup and pcmiler was more accurate.
Today I was sent a load for $1600 that would have had me at 1701 real miles from Eastern NC to Iowa. Plus we haven't been getting the full weight on lately since the truck is heavy and both of us in there, then the mountains of WV and tolls... forget it. I turned it back in. Hope something better comes up tomorrow, apparently no wheat for 2 weeks around here for some reason. Probably Cargill's hours.
What's scarier is that he normally wouldn't have EVER sent me a load like that, it must really be slim pickings out there. I hope something better comes available tomorrow. The last couple weeks were really good once I'm out west. Got $2700 out and $3300 back. Need some more of those, especially since we can knock it out in a 2 days depending on scheduling.

You were right to turn that down...wouldn't have been worth it. 94 cents a mile is not good. Better luck tomorrow.

Slowed down yesterday. Combines got stuck 9 times I think. Ice cream day for trucks tho. Graveled pad and easy driveover setups. Sposed to rain yet again tonight.

60 out right now. Cloudy, humid...supposed to rain this afternoon. Don't think will get much cutting done today. Cargill taking beans up to 16% because they have to load train today with beans. Normally they wouldn't take beans with that high of moisture.

Raining again what a surprise. Cowdoc, RW and all the people waiting to cut , I hope the weather is better where you are. Isn't much grain moving out of elevators they don't have much.

Finally got a good couple days hauling in. Monday only ran 2 loads and loaded up one for Tuesday. Tuesday and today was pretty busy, with the weather forecast what it was, everyone was attacking the beans as hard as they could. There were some lines once in a while, hardly anyone puts beans in their own bins around here, but for the most part, the elevators kept things moving pretty well. Hasn't rained here yet, but looking at the radar, I don't think it can miss us, just a matter of when.

We finished a field bout 8 and quit so we could tear all the driveovers down and get everything moved home fore the rain. Cut bout 140 acres today. They said as of today we're 1/2 way through with the rice.

Cloudy, drizzle, in the 40's. Took my truck in Monday to get windshield resealed...was fine for a year but just started leaking. Usually they leak after they are first installed. Think they got it fixed.
