RW. i have been told by my folks at DeBruce the light test weight is from the cool,wet summer. i have not hauled any corn for anyone that has been higher than 55.7 i know what i have hauled has been real pale in color,doesn't have much oil content.

Got to elevator they told me they were done they gave me a load to get me back to Hutch. I was rather irritated at dispatcher for not telling me the haul was done. Called him to tell him haul was done...he then tells me they booked another 30,000. I was curious whether he was going to call me and say they had some more grain.
He is kinda annoying me but maybe it's me I'm tired from all the hauling. They been really pushing to get the milo in.

Cowdoc, did you get your beans and rice separated? Dairyman, that could be right, we've had summers this wet recently, but not as cool as this for a while that I remember. WH, sorry to hear your dispatcher isn't on the ball.
Hauled corn today, had to write down which elevator was going to close for wet corn at what time. Cargill was 9 AM, CHS Havana was going to be until 4, in line at 3:30, a guy came down the line to tell us they are full. The line moved over to ADM, got dumped there, then got a phone call later that they filled up about 6:30. Dad never did get anything to haul with his truck, he plowed all day. He has got something for tomorrow though.

Dairyman we're about 150 miles due east of Harrison on 412. They got the rice and beans separated today. Supposed to pick up in the morning. Still lots of water and lots of ducks. We've got several eagles around too. I watched one yesterday while they were loading me. He was chasing a bunch of spoonies. I never saw him catch 1. We see lots of wildlife. A plus for me.

anybody seen the new sloped front and back timpte? RW.... sounds like you need a secretary for (wet corn) schedules!! are you familiar with ARROW TRAILER in springfeild,ill.? are they decent folks to deal with? i am trying to trade and they have given me the best price with trade-in. $15,250 and my 97' wilson. any of you folks have a specific preference trap styles? wilson strap versus timpte roller trap? i haul a lot of feed ingredients in off season to 3 or 4 local feed mills. any and all previous experienced feedback from you folks would be welcomed! thanks in advance! DISPATCHERS...
I feel your pain,wheathauler!!! somebody needs to invent a wooden seat that will mount to the back of our trailers so those nucklehead dispatchers can ride home with us and our EMPTY trailers! cowdoc...about the only wildlife i'm seeing is all the dead deer on the road...i quit count'in after 9 deer on 140 mile run. i do enjoy the beauty and peacefullness of the wildlife,though. it kind of puts things in perpective seeing GOD'S handywork.

I haven't pulled a tipme but I liked the wilson straps. The guys at the elevators loved it. I didn't have to get out, they'd grab the handle out of the side box and do it for me. The other trailer we had with the T bar handle I had to crank myself.

Both styles of traps work great when new but my experience says that when you get age and wear on them the Timpte gear drive is better. thhe company I pull for has both and anything thats not real new has been beat to heck and the straps suck after they get stretched and worn

Dairyman I've seen one sloped Timpte, didn't even know they made them till I saw it. I've been in Arrow to buy parts a couple times, never bought anything big from them, but seem like OK folks what little I've dealt with them. We've got a 2001 Wilson with strap doors, still works fine. The only thing is it seems like where the doors ride on the rollers when they're shut gets dents beat in them after a few years, and when its loaded it takes a little more effort to get the door started moving than it did when it was new. But even so, its still way better than the old steel doors riding on a plastic strip with a gearbox. I've never pulled a Timpte, so I'm biased toward Wilson's. We only haul grain or once in a blue moon a load of bean meal and the strap doors work great.
