It took a hr with a front end loader to dig a path to the crane I am getting in Arthur,IA
Took another 2hrs with jumpers and a weed burner on the oil pan to get it to bust off.
Got it half way on the trailer when a hyd cyl blew a end cap off.
I sure hope UPS overnight comes on time so I can leave this garden spot.:biggrin_25513:
There sure are alot of hoppers that run in and out of that place. And some very nice looking trucks
What is that tube thing that they stick in the trailer for?

It's called a probe. They stick it in to get a sample of the grain...the grain goes into probe and they use air to bring it to scale house so they can grade the grain.

ROFL, going to have to throw your city boy butt on the truck with hubby to teach you the hopper business, aren't I?:biggrin_25522:

Like WH said, they grade the grain, or sample the commodity that is in the hopper. With grain they are testing moisture content along with the amount of other things like weed debris, to determine the grade or dockage. If a farmer has a lot of weed debris in the grain, it gets docked or graded lower, because it has to be cleaned.

At least now they have hydraulics to probe with. I used to do it by hand, now that was fun. Especially during harvest. Lots of grasshoppers in the stuff. :yes2557:

You guys are making me feel guilty for not being out in this beautiful weather. I'm getting ready to remodel my bathroom and hallway, went to Springfield and got some new stuff yesterday, so I guess I am committed to it now.

And if you're unlucky, they hit the bottom of your trailer hard enough to dent it.

Dairyman, did you stay awake to see the Bears win last night? I love to see them stick it to Favre like that. :biggrin_25522:

You have my sympathy. LOL We did ours last year. It all started with hubby finding a 9 jet tub on sale, and it just snowballed from there. Good luck. We stripped ours back down to the studs, moved plumbing and drains, just to accommodate the monster tub hubby bought.

I love it now, but the three weeks it was torn up and only partially usable about drove me crazy. :biggrin_25523:

Oh, I'm not getting that crazy, just new paint, wallpaper, sink, faucets, medicine cabinet, etc. Just replacing the easy stuff.

    Chicken! LOL :biggrin_25522:

I'm going to attempt to tile the backboard to the fireplace this summer. Should be interesting. One layer, let it dry, then the next and so on. :biggrin_2556:

Around here they hit the bottom, sides whatever they can. They also like the tarp bows... I saw the other day one of my bows has a ding in it. Doesn't look like it bent it just a ding in the middle of it.

usually if you catch them hitting it you can make them pay for it

a buddy of mine got a bow and a ridge strap replaced thanks to cargill but he caught them in the act

Yep, the next few months will weed out some truckers that can't afford their tags. I agree with you on rates and service. When it will go back to service rather than cheap rates who knows.
