It'll be a very slow transition. My experience tells me that my lack of experience won't help. That is okay. You want to tread lightly in order to keep the fuel card anyways. I did a quick search on Internet Truckstop and the well is dry as can be. Give me some time and I'll figure it out.

According to those who know a Holland Fifth Wheel is expensive to rebuild. Naturally I have a Holland. For about 150 more or less could get new 5th wheel over rebuilt.

Supposedly Fontaine cheapest to rebuild. On my freightliner I got a Jost 5th wheel it wasn't too bad.
Both our trucks are Hollands now, the kit to rebuild the one we did was $270.85 from our KW dealer back in Feb of '08, plus probably a couple hours labor. We had a Fontaine on a T-800 we used to have, rebuilt it, but I sent the all the paperwork with the truck when we sold it, so I don't know how much the kit for that one was. I remember the 2 different kinds are completely different animals. THe jaws, springs, everything about them is different. If you're going to keep the truck for a while, you're probably as well off to just buy a new one. And unless you're going to rebuild it yourself, the price including labor is probably similar.

WOW! What is he thinking? $4000/mo truck payment plus all the other exspenses, was he serious. Sounds like he didn't have the nerve to say he changed his mind. Sorry to hear about this D. Hang in there.
