Sunny today temps around 70. Some farmers may try to cut today...don't know if elevators will be open though. Some farmers don't harvest on Sunday here anyway.

clear and 44 this morning, need a good east wind for 2 days, may be able to shell tue. but will have to have 2 good breezy days. hope we dont get an early heavy snow, farmers in western ky. bout 30% done with corn 50% done with beans. nobody needs trucks, its going to be a rat race when it does clear off though, rates are 15 to 25 cents for 100 to 150 mile runs if you can find anybody harvesting.

It's going to be very busy when they get back to cutting everywhere. Hopefully the weather continues to be nice. The rates could be better everywhere too. The rates aren't as high here as previous years but that's trucking.

Diesel is 2.89 here. It was 2.69 for a long time, even though I saw it at other places in IL for 2.55 a month ago, they didn't drop it, but wait till the price goes up, they don't waste any time raising it!

If I was to guess how much of the crop has been harvested around here, I would probably say around 50% of the beans and 10-15% of the corn. Its hard to say though, just a wild guess. I know trucking wise, I've only hauled between 5-10% of what I normally do during harvest.

I hope we haul as much as other years. When the harvest dribbles in there isn't much demand to haul grain out of smaller elevators. Hopefully the grain pours in and we will all be busy.

2.89 in ill... thats high! bought 168 gal. in mo. 1st week of sept.just east of st.louis for 2.429. i guess they must have misplaced a couple billion gallons somewhere in the gulf. getten closer to winter so they have a good ex. to raise it back up. my ol b model just gets 4.9 to 5.7 so i better keep her close to home. weatherman says sunny thru sat... hope you all get a good week of weather.be safe

In route to Rock Rapids, IA. Another blasted load of cotton seed.:biggrin_25510:
Unfortunately thats all there was out of N-FL S-GA but I'm going to be running in the midwest primarily so I should do well, just the load out stinks.

About half of the corn is cut in MO, and IA but theres plenty of beans in the field along with lots of water. Been real nice here. I expected to wake up to a fridged cab (Sweet Springs, MO)since I didn't idle but it was very pleasant. When a FL boy can walk outside on NOV 1 in MO with a short sleeve T-shirt it must be a mild day.

It's a trick to lull you into a sense of security. You lower your guard on a nice sunny day and it's 70 degrees out, then you wake up a meat popsicle. Welcome to Missouri.
