Wheathauler, have you ever seen the tarp saver cord in action? I seen an advertisement for them at the Wichita truck stop and checked out their website. It looks pretty cool if it lasts. Their out of Hutchinson.

Well flipped the switch twice this morning and she fired right up. RW in the 70's we had trucks with the emergency kills but these freightliners are the only one's I've seen lately. On/off lever switch behind the seat. Just in the right spot for your crank handle to hit it if you keep it behind the seat like I do. Funny you mentioned a wake cause I was throwing one. Looked wierd with the lights hitting it out in front of the trucks. One of the buggy drivers was waiting on me and he said it looked like the water was right below the headlights. Good thing the intake is way high. We're gonna have to change the driveaxles oil shortly cause I know water was getting in them vents.

Well, my day ended about 30 minutes ago. Hauling beans from smaller elevators to the terminal elevators. Elevators closing from 6 to 6:30 nowdays.

Big John, there's plenty of dumps that haul grain around here, like you say, a lot of farmers have them so they can haul rock, lime, fertilizer, whatever. 28' frame dumps are pretty common for farmers with one semi around here, lot of truckers have longer framless ones. I still like my hopper cause its a lot harder to tip over!
Been a good week for me, not a great one, but not bad either. Got to go grease the truck now, might get cleaned up afterwards and head into town for a beverage. Everyone have a good weekend..... -
We had to switch over to beans today because the water is too deep in all the rice we've got left. Alot of our beans are under water and ruined. Alot of our neighbors are in the same boat. It's been a strange year.

Last Monday I personally hauled just-almost one million four hundred thousand lbs of corn all by myself. Now keeping in mind these loads went about the same distance as a short par 5; Elevator to Bunker. Thought it was pretty cool when I realized just how much all that added up to.
Those tarp savers cords are awesome, they work flawlessly.
I have officially given up on dusting my trucks interior. I suppose after harvest is over I may give it a shot once again, but as of right now the only thing that gets dusted is the face plate of the radio, and maybe the speedometer.
Most of the elevators I have been around this past week have been staying open till 8-9 every night. They are cutting the farmers off at 8, and letting us go till 9. We worked on the Walton bunker till 1 am the other night, hit the ground running early the next morning. Getting a little exhausted, but the moneys been decent. Make hay while the sun shines I guess...Big John Thanks this. -
Chains are required in most western states, some will just park you in inclimate weather, others like washington and oregon will check to see if you have'em even in good weather and fine you good if not, a legal set is 7 singles or 2 3 railers and 4 singles, you have to have at least one spare.
you can google chain requirements online for wa. and or. they have the toughest requirements. hope this helps you to stay out of trouble. dan -

Count all my money HA!!! That truck eats the money faster than I can make it. Trailer rent is killing me, quick as I can after Christmas I gotta make a deal and buy one if I am going to keep doing this.
Still need to set up an appointment with my accountant to find out how to proceed on that deal. Any suggestions from you guys?
