    Happy Thanksgiving Guys and Gals.

They managed to keep us out of Colwich this week. Been running milo into Wichita the past 3 days. Told the boss I wasn't going to work Friday, but the thought of a small pay check is bothering me. So I may just get my butt out of bed Friday morning, and go to work lol.

Had a talk with the owner of Newells on Wednesday. Last 3 times I have gone in there for fuel. They haven't been able to get my bank card to process as debit. It's 7 or 8 cents a gallon cheaper there as debit. They tried both of my bank cards, (two different banks) neither would work. But, they did get me approved to write a check there. I was half expecting a fight over the deal, and what I got was a promise of help, and a fairly reasonable solution.

Wheathauler, whats up with your truck?

Trucks OK just doing minor things. New wiper Blades, oil change, and two new front shocks. Going out of fields and some of the roads around elevators are tough on shocks.

Thinking about getting 4 new drive tires Friday if they're open. Trying to put off long as possible but with winter coming might need the extra traction.

I just put all new shocks on then went and put 10 new tires on yesterday and had a 3 axle alignment down. If anybody wants to send donations I will give you my address. lol.

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody, you guys don't eat to much today.

You might need some donations after all that. However everything you did shocks, alignment will help the tires last. Which is why you did it I'm sure. I was told years ago to replace shocks when you put on new tires.

Well I had 285,000 on the original drive tires (Bridgestones) and I won't wait that long to put shocks on my truck again, those were original shocks and they were wore out. I know some guys that put shocks on every 100,000 miles but we will wait and see. My drives were at 6/32nds but had some bad spots from cupping and with bad weather coming and some of the places I go it was time for new rubber, if I was running around home I would have run them longer. New shocks sure make a big difference in the ride. lol

Yes I like to get the most miles I can and for what they cost I try and do every thing I can. I also run Centramatics on all axles and if I had my own trailer I would have them on it also.

Man would i love to get 285000 on my drives...... only get about 110000 out of my michelins, but thats on my straight tri axle dump ...fair amount of stop and go lots of twists and turns ,and maxed gross all the time.. we run loaded about 85-90% of the time very little dh between dump and reload.. go one way dump, reload go back where ya came from... repeat a few times a day.... we average about 500-600+ miles a day all local (well tri state anyway) usally 100,000+ a year.... on my tractor and end dump i do get much better milage on tires bout 200,000 on drives (if lucky) and better on my steers... LOts of maintence the way we run ... get a little jealous when i hear you otr guys talk about your service or change out intervalls

I got most of those miles running a dedicated run to Vegas and back to OKC for two years and most of it was 50% empty and then with oversize light loads with 50% deadhead so now that I am pulling an end dump and heavy all the time but still running otr I don't think I am going to get those kind of miles but we will see. The most I got out of a set of steers were 140,000 miles but I also don't run my steer tires down to 4/32nds before I change them.

You pull an end dump otr? know a couple of guys that do it , but dont know em real well..... My goal is to retire to otr end dump after my kids are grown, i want to see as much of this country as i can before i die, but goin otr end dump would still keep me in my comfort zone so to speak... dumps is all i know and the only way ive ever trucked..
